The first four minutes looked a little rough for #9 Lakeville North and #5 Bloomington Kennedy in this Monday night meeting with just four points netted for the Eagles, but then things heated up in a hurry.
The defensive duo Martin and Bell would prove to be a sticking point in the first half for this aggressive Lakeville North team as they shut down the scoring lane early. Lakeville North’s #11 Caroline Sjoberg, realizing the inside threat, decides to tie the game with a nice three-point jump shot from outside at the 9:30 mark. The Eagles would go on to a twelve point first half lead but not before a little scare when Eagles #14 Kenisha Bell went head first into the scorers table.
Lakeville North would start the second half strong with back-to-back baskets from #30 Simone Kolander. Just a few minutes later the Panther’s would find themselves within two after #11 Sjoberg and #32 Stewart hit there outside shots for three each. The game would stay close for the remaining few minutes of play. The Panthers had a chance to tie the game at 3.4 seconds from the line but the two missed free throws would bring this nail biter to a close.
The Eagles go to 15-6 while the Panthers fall to 13-8.
